1. Scope and provider

These Terms of Use apply to your use of the “Lookas” app and this website. By using the app or by accepting them in the app, you agree to these terms.
2. What Lookas is
Lookas is a playful game in which users guess other people’s age and origin from photos. It is free to use and ad-supported.
3. Minimum age
You may use Lookas only if you are at least 16 years old. Younger people may use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian. Only one account per person is allowed, and your information must be truthful.
4. Account and security
Keep your login credentials confidential and do not share them with others. You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
5. Your content and photo rights
You keep your rights to the content you upload. You warrant that you are entitled to use the photos you upload and that – where required – you have obtained the consent of the people shown.
You grant Lookas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use your content solely to operate and display the game (feed, challenges, leaderboards).
6. Prohibited content and conduct – zero tolerance
The following content and conduct are expressly prohibited and will not be tolerated:
- Nudity as well as sexual or pornographic content.
- Depictions of violence, gore or the glorification of violence.
- Hate, harassment, bullying, threats or discrimination.
- Unlawful content of any kind.
- Any depiction of the sexual exploitation of minors – such content is deleted and reported to the competent authorities.
- Photos of other people without their consent.
- Identity misuse or impersonation.
- Spam, fraud or manipulation of the game.
Zero tolerance applies. Violations lead to removal of the content and may result in the suspension or deletion of your account.
7. Moderation, reporting, blocking and enforcement
Uploaded photos are checked automatically before they become visible to other users (for details see our Privacy Policy, section 14).
In the app, anyone can report content with a single tap and block other users. We review reported content – usually within 24 hours – and remove confirmed violations.
In the event of violations, we may remove or block content and accounts without prior notice. Serious or unlawful content is reported to the competent authorities.
8. Virtual goods (Spots, XP)
Spots (also called “Drops”), XP and levels have no real-world monetary value. They cannot be paid out or transferred, may change, and expire if you delete your account.
9. Advertising
The app is ad-supported (Google AdMob). You can find details about advertising in our Privacy Policy.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service. We may change, restrict or discontinue features at any time.
11. Term and termination
You can delete your account at any time (see our account deletion page, linked in the footer). We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
12. Liability
Lookas is intended for entertainment; estimates are provided without warranty. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence as well as for injury to life, body or health. Otherwise we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely) and limited in amount to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Any further liability is excluded.
13. Indemnification
If your content infringes the rights of third parties or these terms, you indemnify us against any resulting third-party claims to the extent that you are responsible for the violation.
14. Applicable law
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected.
15. Changes to these terms
We may amend these Terms of Use. In the case of material changes, we will ask for your renewed consent. The current version published here applies.
